About us
In 2005, four passionate watch enthusiasts turned a long-held dream into reality.
After years of design, planning and development, JS Watch Company Reykjavik unveiled its first collection of mechanical timepieces under the guidance of Master Watchmaker Gilbert O. Gudjonsson. Combining Icelandic design with traditional mechanical watchmaking, the collection was met with immediate enthusiasm at home and soon attracted the attention of collectors around the world.
From the beginning, our ambition has been simple: to create timeless mechanical watches inspired by Iceland, built using the finest European components, and assembled by hand in Reykjavík. Rather than following trends, we focus on classical proportions, enduring design and the traditions of mechanical watchmaking.
Every collection begins in our Reykjavík workshop, where ideas are developed, refined and tested before production. We then work with a carefully selected network of specialist manufacturers in Switzerland and Germany, many of whom have spent generations perfecting a single craft and produce components for some of the world's most respected watch brands. Once these components return to Iceland, every watch is hand assembled, individually regulated and thoroughly inspected by our own team.
Today, JS Watch is led by Master Watchmaker Gilbert O. Gudjonsson, Watchmaker and Technical Director Sigurður Gilbertsson, Watchmaker Gilbert Sigurðsson Junior, and Grímkell Sigurþórsson, who is responsible for design and marketing. Together, three generations of Icelandic watchmakers continue the traditions on which the company was founded.
Visitors are always welcome at our owner-operated workshop, showroom and design studio at Laugavegur 62 in the heart of Reykjavík.
THE FIRST AND ONLY ICELANDIC WATCH MANUFACTURER
Every JS Watch is designed and hand assembled in Reykjavík using carefully selected Swiss mechanical movements and high quality European components. Produced in small numbers, each watch receives individual attention throughout assembly, regulation and final inspection, giving every timepiece its own character.
We believe buying a fine mechanical watch should be a personal experience. Whether you visit our workshop in Reykjavík or contact us from the other side of the world, you will speak directly with the people who design, build and care for your watch.
That philosophy has remained unchanged since 2005 and continues to define everything we do today.

Our Master Watchmaker Gilbert O. Gudjonsson was honored by being nominated Icelandic Craftsman of the year in 2009 and on February 20th 2014, JS Watch Company Reykjavik won the prestigious ‘Shop of the Year’ award (Njarðarskjöldurinn).
