Probably the worlds smallest watch manufacturer. The first and only watch manufacturer in Iceland. All timepieces are designed and assembled by hand in our studio/workshop located in Iceland. In our production we only incorporate high quality Swiss movements, European made parts and components. Every detail of our timepieces has been given the personal attention needed for perfection. The low volume of production gives every timepiece a personal character and a feeling exclusivity.

Here are a few Photographs we made recently in our in-house photography studio. Photographs include the New Islandus 1919 and the New Icelandic Flag color NATO strap for our SIF - N.A.R.T. collection

Assembly, Service and Overhaul

Grimkell Sigurthorsson

The work that our watchmakers put into assembling, servicing and overhauling each watch is immense. Every watch is taken apart down to the last screw, each of its pieces is cleaned, and replaced if necessary. The watchmaker then reassembles and re-oils the movement, checks the strap and case, tests and adjusts the movements precision, and finally tests the water-tightness.

Designs from our Atelier

Sigurdur Gilbertsson

People often ask us if we can make their watch special and unique, and yes we can. There is a lot of very detailed designer work that goes into each special edition watch before it is finally engraved and assembled, customers sometimes bring their own ideas and then our designer has to work closely with the customer to get the desired final result. Here you can see how we custom designed the engraving for one Frisland Goð Special Edition watch.

The Art and Craft of Dial Making

Sigurdur Gilbertsson

During the first weeks of the year 2014 we are working on dials in our workshop. Here our Master Watchmaker Gilbert and our Technical Director Sigurður Gilbertsson are busy working on dials for our 101 32mm ladies collection.

Icelandic Heritage and History

Grimkell Sigurthorsson

For inspiration and research on our newest project we headed to The National Museum of Iceland. We wanted to use the Heritage and History of Iceland as the main focus point. Here are some pictures we took of historic artifacts during our research at the museum that we used as inspiration for our designs.
