People often ask us if we can make their watch special and unique, and yes we can. There is a lot of very detailed designer work that goes into each special edition watch before it is finally engraved and assembled, customers sometimes bring their own ideas and then our designer has to work closely with the customer to get the desired final result. Here you can see how we custom design the engraving for the Frisland Goð Special Edition watch.

Finally we have a new post in our Workshop section! :)  We have been extremely busy this summer in our Workshop and we had little time to update this section! So here are some nice pictures taken today in our workshop. Shown are a few cases from some of our collections, dials for the 101 collection and Gilbert our Master Watchmaker doing quality inspection on SIF - N.A.R.T case and a newly finished Special Edition Goð case with custom engravings.

The work that our watchmakers put into assembling, servicing and overhauling each watch is immense. Every watch is taken apart down to the last screw. And each of its pieces is cleaned, and replaced if necessary. The watchmaker then reassembles and re-oils the movement, checks the strap and case, tests and adjust the movements precision, and finally tests the water-tightness.

For inspiration and research on our newest project we headed to The National Museum of Iceland. We wanted to use the Heritage and History of Iceland as the main focus point. Here are some pictures we took of historic artifacts during our research at the museum that we used as inspiration for our designs. 

At this time we are still working on this, but the final product will be ready soon.

Here you can see what we are working on this week in our Reykjavik workshop, assembly of the 101 38mm collection. All pictures taken this morning by our Technical Director, Sigurdur Gilbertsson, as he worked on the assembly.

During this first week of the year 2012 we are working on dials in our workshop. Our Master Watchmaker Gilbert and our Technical Director Sigurður have their hands full with Mother of Pearl dials for our 32mm 101 collection.

In 2010 we got the idea to ask the most prominent artists in Iceland to join with us in order to create something very special and to make the outcome of that creative work our contribution to KRAFTUR, a society to support young people who have been diagnosed with cancer, and their families. Now little over a year later we present two highly exclusive watches. Here are pictures from our workshop showing the assembly of one of these very special watches.
